80's Rock

80's Rock
written 12/30/13

Supplies Needed:

Tube of your choice. I am using the work of Danny Lee. I got this tube when Danny was with another company. You can get his art at www.scrapsncompany.com now but this tube is not available there. Sorry.

Scrap Kit is called Roller Princess By Bibi's Collection. You can get this kit athttp://scrapsncompany.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=112_114_281&products_id=1828

Font of your choice. I am using Mail Ray Stuff.

Lets Begin:

Open a new blank canvas that gives you plenty of room to work with.
Now open element 122 from the kit and resize so it will fit nicely in the center of your canvas.
Copy and paste as a new layer and center.
Using your magic wand select the inside of the frame and go to selections modify and expand by 7.
Make your bottom blank layer active.
Open paper 10 and edit copy and paste into selection.
Leave your frame selected for a few more steps.
Open element 5 and copy and paste as a new layer.
Position in the frame so that top of the light is shining from top left to bottom right.
Selections invert and hit delete to clear any overhang.
Selections invert again.
Open element 15 and image flip horizontal.
Copy and paste as a new layer and move so that the smaller end of the keys is in the top right of the frame and they get larger to the bottom left.
Selections invert and hit delete.
Selections select none.
Drag the piano keys layer under the lights layer.
Add a drop shadow to both the piano keys and your frame.
Open element 61.
We need to resize this so when it is at the bottom it will peek out around our frame.
I resized mine by 120% however you may do it as large or small as you want.
Add a drop shadow.
Open your tube and resize.
Copy and paste as a new layer and position on the right hand side of the frame so that you can see the lights and the piano keys behind it.
Add a drop shadow.
Open element 6 and resize so that it is still quite large but will fit nicely on the left side of your frame.
I wanted mine to appear wrapped through the frame so I erased bits at the bottom to achieve that look.
Add a drop shadow.
Open element 26 and resize by 85%.
Copy and paste as a new layer and move over to the right hand side of your tag in front of your tube.
Open element 63 and resize by 85%.
Copy and paste as a new layer and drag under the headphones.
Move over to the left of the end of the headphones.
Open element 84 and resize.
Copy and paste as a new layer and drag under the cassette tape.
Move to the left of the cassette tape.
Add a drop shadow.
Open element 107 and resize.
Copy and paste as a new layer and move to the bottom left of the boombox.
Duplicate and place them side by side to look like a pair.
Merge these 2 layers together and add a drop shadow.
Open element 126 and resize by 80%.
Copy and paste as a new layer and place in the middle of your star on the left.
Add a drop shadow.
Set your background color to black and turn off your foreground.
Using the font of your choice write out “80's”
on top of the word art “Rock”. Make it just smaller than the wordart itself.
Rotate it so it is on the same angle as the wordart.
Add a slight drop shadow then add a gradient glow and then the same drop shadow again.
Repeat this same process with your name but place your name where ever you want it.
Add your copyright information.
Crop and save.
