Magical Winter

Magical Winter
written 12/19/13

Tube of your choice. I am using the work of Suzanne Woolcott. You can get her work at

Scrap kit is a freebie by Simone at Scrappy Bit Of Fun. Its called Magical Times and you can get it at
You have to scroll a bit down the page.

Font of your choice. I am using LamarPen

Lets Begin:
Open a new canvas to give yourself plenty of room to work on.
Set your foreground color to white and turn off your background color.
Using your preset rectangle tool with the width set to 8 -
draw out a rectangle large enough to be a frame.
Using your magic wand and select the inside of the frame.
Selections modify and expand by 2.
Make your bottom layer the active layer and open paper 2.
Copy and paste into selection.
Leave selected.
Open your tube and copy and paste as a new layer above your paper but below the frame.
Position where you want in the frame area.
If you decide to leave some hanging out of the frame then erase the bits you dont want.
If you want it all framed then go to selections invert and hit delete.
Selections select none.
Make your frame layer active and add some noise.
Adjust add/remove noise at 85%.
Using your magic wand select the inside of your frame again.
Open element 43 - coy and paste as a new layer and move above your paper.
Go to selections invert and hit delete to clear the overhang.
Selections select none.
Open element 10 and resize.
Copy and paste as a new layer.
Move to the opposite of the frame as your tube and place so it is on top and lines up with the bottom of the frame.
Add a drop shadow.
Open element 5 and copy and paste as a new layer.
Resize so it fits nicely along the bottom of your frame.
Add a drop shadow.
Add a drop shadow to your frame.
Using the font of your choice add some text to your tag if you want to.
Add your name and copyright information.
Lets get ready to animate.
Hide your bottom background layer and the layer just above it with the white sparkles on it.
Merge visible the rest of the layers.
Hide that new top layer and unhide the bottom 2 layers and merge them together.
Now copy just that bottom layer and open animation shop.
Right click and paste as a new animation.
Open your animation.
Take note of the number of frames. If you are using the same as me you will have 18 frames.
Duplicate your background canvas to have the same amount of frames.
Edit select all frames on both your background and the animation.
Grab the first frame of your animation and click and hold - drag it onto the first frame of your background and position where you want and let it go.
The frames in your animation will disappear because they will transfer over to your background.
View your new animated background and make sure it looks the way you want it to.
You can undo and redo as many times as you need to to get the placement how you want.
It usually takes me a couple of times.
Now we need to crop your background animation and make the canvas larger to bring the rest of the tag in from psp.
So using the crop tool in animation shop crop the outside edges of your animation.
Create a new canvas in animation shop that is going to give you lots of room to place your background in the middle and bring the rest of your tag in from psp.
I always go bigger to be sure I have room and then crop when I am done.
So mine are generally 800x800.
Duplicate your new canvas to the same amount of frames.
Now you are going to repeat what you did when you animated your background.
Select all of your frames on both and then drag frame 1 onto frame 1.
Don't let go until your background is where you want it.
Now go back to psp and copy the layer with the rest of your tag on it and bring it into animation shop.
Right click and paste as a new animation and duplicate to the same amount of frames.
Again select all frames and drag frame 1 onto frame1.
Don't let go until it is positioned correctly.
This might be a bit tricky but I know you can do it. I am going down the road in a semi truck and did it first shot. ;)
Once you are done view your completed animated tag and if you are happy crop and save.
If you want to make a matching avatar you can.
